FAQs
Answers about issuing and managing verifiable credentials for industrial safety programs.
Can Wauld issue an official OSHA card?
No. Wauld issues provider-branded digital credentials, not the official DOL card from the Department of Labor for the OSHA Outreach Training Program. Only an OSHA-authorized trainer can teach Outreach classes and request an OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour student course completion card through an authorizing training organization, usually an OSHA Training Institute Education Center. OSHA states that Outreach classes are voluntary and are not a safety certification or an OSHA certification. Employers remain responsible for meeting job-specific training requirements under applicable OSHA standards.
Which industrial safety courses can I credential?
You can create a training certificate or certificate of completion for each training course in your catalog. Examples include construction safety, general industry training, HAZWOPER training, equipment safety, workplace hazards, occupational health, and other industry-specific safety topics. The issuer is responsible for ensuring that course content, instructor qualifications, assessment criteria, and records satisfy all applicable training requirements.
Can credentials be issued after online training?
Yes. Connect your LMS or course platform through APIs, webhooks, or SSO so Wauld can issue credentials when your system confirms completion. This supports instructor-led programs, online courses, and blended learning. Wauld manages the credential workflow; your training provider remains responsible for validating attendance and successful completion.
How does Wauld work with NASP credentials?
Wauld is independent of the National Association of Safety Professionals. Its courses, certificate program, workplace safety certifications, and credentials such as Certified Safety Director follow the association's own eligibility, authorization, and issuance rules. Organizations should use its branding only when permitted. Wauld can manage an issuer's approved digital credential workflow but does not grant association status or a professional designation.
Is a course certificate the same as professional certification?
No. A course completion certificate documents that a learner met the issuer's stated completion criteria. A professional certification usually requires a separate assessment and is awarded by a certification body under its own eligibility and renewal rules. Clearly naming the issuer, course, completion date, skills, and criteria helps employers understand what each credential represents.
How do employers verify an industrial safety credential?
Each Wauld credential has a unique verification page and QR code. Employers and supervisors can check its issuer, recipient, status, dates, skills, and supporting evidence without emailing your team. For regulated programs, they should also follow the regulator's official verification process. For example, OSHA explains that Outreach card verification is handled through the trainer and authorizing training organization, not a national OSHA database.
